Quilt Preparation and Price list

Preparing your Quilt

To get the best result complete the following steps before bringing your quilt in:

  1. Measure your Quilt   Width ……………..  x Height………………

  2. Trim all lose threads.

  3. Square up your quilt.

  4. Ensure your quilt has been pressed and there are no open seams. Measure your backing and make sure it overlaps the quilt top by at least 4” all round.

  5. Measure your wadding and make sure it overlaps the quilt top by at least 4” all round.

  6. Remove all embellishments, pins and other protruding items. These could obstruct the machine in the quilting process and could cause damage to my machine and your quilt

  7. If there is a directional aspect to your quilt design or backing  please attach a note with a safety pin to elements that require special attention

  8. Take particular care with your borders – ensure they are flat, not wavy as these will pucker during the quilting process or I will have to make tucks in the borders to accommodate the extra fabric. This does not always tool nice but it is too late once the quilting process has begun to apply any fixes to the quilt top.

The better your quilt is prepared for quilting the better the end result will be.
